La Grande Maison is situated in the Loire Valley in the Wine Appellation of Anjou and close to Saumur, Chinon, Bourgueil, Touraine and the sparkling wines of Crement.

The Loire valley has been designated a UNESCO World heritage site, drawing people world wide to enjoy its stunning scenery and fine wines.

During your stay why not take a wine tour? You can either plan your own tour using the very handy Loire Valley Vineyard pdf (download here) or we can arrange a guided tour with our English speaking tour guide Alain Caillemer.

Alain will pick you up from La Grande Maison and will accompany you to experience wine tasting from a selected group of wine growers from a choice of Appellations  from Chinon, Saumur Champigny, Saint-Nicholas de Bourgueil or Touraine. You will have the chance to purchase wines direct from the Caves. Each tour is 60€ per couple or 100€ for a group of four

                                  Since 1864 Gratien & Meyer have been a traditional producer of fine sparkling wines. They produce wines here in the Loire and  Champagne in Epernay. Their refined elegance and exquisite sparkle are the result of many months or sometimes years of patience and constant meticulous care. This creates wines of an extraordinary quality and consistency.
